• After activating your account, you can access Black Vault through the web app or mobile app (Android and iOS).
• Visit Black Vault
• Enter your username in the "Username" field.
• Enter your password in the "Password" field.
• Click "Login."

• Go to Black Vault login and click on "Forgot Password?"
• Enter registered "Email" and "Username".
• Click on "Send Code" button.
• You will receive a code on registered email.
• Enter "Confirmation Code", "New password " and "Confirm Password".
• Then click on the "Reset" button.

• Login into Black Vault with Username and Password.
• Click on "Update Settings" on left side panel.
• Enter "Old password " and "New Password".
• Then click on the "Submit" button.

Yes, Black Vault has separate app for Android and IOS, you can download the android app from here and IOS App from here.

Black Vault employs a Multi-level File Permissions by users and access to ensure data security and control.

There are 2 Users who uses Company Account:

1. Admin User
   • Possesses full control over the system.
   • Can create, edit, and delete user accounts.
   • Assign user roles and permissions.
   • Configure system settings and preferences.
   • Block USB devices for specific users.
   • Can view user activity logs for their own actions
2. Standard User
   • Access to files and folders based on assigned permissions.
   • Can upload, download, and share files within their authorized scope.

Click 'Set Permissions'. Modify User roles and access levels (read, write, delete, share, USB)

• Read: User can only view file but cannot download/upload/share/delete.
• Write: User can view , download and upload the file but cannot delete and share.
• Delete: User can view , download and upload, delete but cannot share.
• Share: User can view , download and upload the file , delete, share.
• USB: User is blocked from using USB device.

No, she cannot upload the files who has been authorized only read access.

Yes, she can read, upload and download the file with 'share' access but cannot transfer the file form data room to the USB device that she has connected to her local machine.

Yes, Black Vault has 'overwrite the file' option. Go the 'Update preferences'. Set it to 'true' means replacing existing file with new data/file. This is often done when updating a file or saving a new version of a document. When overwriting a file, the new data replaces the old data in the same physical space.

• Access your Black Vault account using your credentials.
• Navigate to the desired folder and locate it where you want to upload the files.
• Click the "Upload" Button/Icon: You'll find this button in the top right corner of the screen, near the folder view (header section).
• Use the file explorer to choose the files you want to upload.

Yes, Black Vault supports drag-and-drop functionality, allowing you to simply drag files from your computer directly into the desired folder within Black Vault.

Black Vault encompasses the data backup policy that aims to ensure comprehensive data protection and minimize potential downtime in case of data loss events. We maintain a retention policy for backups, ensuring that data is stored for a specified period to meet regulatory requirements and provide a safety net in case of data loss.

• Hourly Backups: We perform full system backups every hour to ensure maximum data protection.
• Daily Backups: In addition to hourly backups, we conduct daily full system backups for added redundancy.
• Monthly Backups: Monthly backups provide an additional layer of protection and facilitate long-term data retention.

By right clicking on the file, select 'download' option. The selected file gets downloaded to the local machine.

NOTE: Normal user can download the file only when she/he has been granted access.

   • Description: Currently, users are unable to upload empty folders to Black Vault due to a technical limitation within the platform.
   • Impact: This issue affects all users attempting to upload folders that contain no files. Users must ensure folders have at least one file before uploading.
   • Workaround: As a temporary solution, please add a small placeholder file (e.g., a text file) inside the folder before uploading.
   • Status: Our team is actively working on a fix. A permanent solution will be provided in an upcoming update.

2. Issue: Camera Restricted View (CRV) for MSOffice files in Black Vault
   • Description: When we enable the blur view option in Black Vault, then the entire MSOffice file gets blurred. When we disable it, it's unblurred and the whole document is visible.
   • Impact: This may affect when blur view is enabled to the users.
   • Workaround: As a temporary solution, we are providing entire blurred document or entire visible document.
   • Status: Our team is actively working on a fix. A permanent solution will be provided in an upcoming update.

3. Issue: File upload window not closing after application gets minimized in Black Vault
   • Description: When we open the file upload window in the Black Vault app and then minimize the app, the file upload window stays open. It doesn't get minimized, but we can close it ourselves if we want to.
   • Impact: In terms of user impact, this will not be a major issue.
   • Workaround: As a temporary solution, window can be manually closed by clicking on cross symbol.
   • Status: Our team is actively working on a fix. A permanent solution will be provided in an upcoming update.
